“Porta-Potty” — Monochrome Madness Week 28

This is my submission for this weeks Monochrome Madness Challenge for week 28, which is curated by the hard working Leanne Cole and Laura Macky.  Please visit Leanne’s site to view the other excellent monochromatic captures in this challenge, as well as her own incredible photography and excellent stories.

My image this week is a view looking toward the famous Ferry Building in San Francisco.  I felt the porta-potty behind a construction site fence added a variation to just shooting the building itself.  This is one reason I enjoy taking some of the side streets throughout the city, as I sometimes find colorful yet different perspectives.

I converted this to a B&W noir style image giving it a vintage feel.  Cheers!

  1. Strange image with the dark brooding foreground and the light open feeling of the background. There seems to be a lot of symbolism here. I like it but I would have trouble living with it.
