Rock Flow

I finally made it back to the coast late yesterday afternoon when I scooted down to one of my favorite beaches…Rockaway Beach in Pacifica, CA.  The waves were really pounding, so I stood back a bit so as not to be surprised by a sneaker wave or two.

I found this little rock flow and with the water level fairly low, I set up right in the middle.  My boots got a little wet, but it sure was worth it.

Details: This is a composite of two 28mm images.  I exposed for the beach at f/5.6 | 1/15 sec | ISO 50.  I then exposed for the sky at f/11 | 1/15 sec | ISO 50 (a one stop difference).  Both images were blended in PS, processed in Nik Color Effects 2, and final touches were made in LR.

More images from a fantastic afternoon to come.  Cheers!

I really enjoy this! The little stream seems so gratified to be reaching the big water, and the ocean in turn appears to be beckoning… Fanciful, perhaps, but that’s how this lovely view affects me. It’s an image I could live with! What fun! MMS

  6. Gorgeous, Dan! Love all the coordinating blues.
